My darling little briz,
I have time now to just write you a few little words before I go to bed.
I found the ink on a bit of a table here so I am using it, if the chap who owns it goes to hit me I will ring you up to come and help me, we would give him a hot time wouldn't me?
Mother told me that you like getting letters from me and I'm so glad. I like getting your kisses too. I count them every time. I don't get any cigarette cards to send you now Jimmie, never mind if I happen to get some I will send them along for your album.
Thank you ever so much for the drawing of that dog why you are nearly as good as Clara (Apologies to Clara!) now, I showed it to a lot of the other signallers and they said it was class Jim.
Do you know what Ron, Una told me in her letter that you often squeeze in beside her on the cane chair, you little terror, eh! Jimmie. Remember when Billy used to tease you about the little girls at Mrs Dowlings, and how shy you would pretend to be. Is

it very cold in Burwood now. It is not warm here though it is summer but it is very wet, the big guns make it rain Jim dear I think.
Well Ron dear I think I must stop now. Be a good little boy and God bless you.
Your loving big briz
Billy.
